INCREASE YOUR FLOWER STYLE REPERTOIRE
Have you ever been stuck in a flower designing rut? You may recognise the symptoms- always in a rush so you decide to do, yet again, that table setting, bouquet or church entrance design that you could do blindfolded, you have done it so often but everyones loves it. Sure you change the flowers for the time of the year, add baubles for Christmas or buy a new container but basically it is the same flower arranging style over and over and over. So much so that others recognise your arrangements instantly and they have started to call it 'your' style.
Now I am not saying this is a bad thing if this all sounds very familiar but are you ready to break out of your comfort zone, venture forth and add some new styles to your flower design repertoire?
If you are, this edition of floral design is just what the doctor ordered! It is loaded with step by step flower arranging lessons using techniques and styles that you may have seen before but never tried, or they will be completely new. Either way have a go with as many of them as you can and you will be able to add many more different ways of arranging flowers and foliage to your list.
The interesting thing is, as these floral designs come from expert arrangers in 4 countries- Canada, Pakistan, England and The Czech Republic , they all use very different material reflecting what is available around them. Reproduce the same and you will have an eclectic range that will be very exotic when placed in another country. Washingtonia Palms in a Canadian winter, Pheasant's feathers in an Australian Summer, a miniature English garden in South Africa- you immediately have a talking point! !
Check out these.
DESIGNERS: Farhana Azin Pakistan, Faculty of Horticulture Czech Republic, Cynthia Bromwich England, BC Guild of Flower Arrangers Canada.
